The Tom Thumb Selection from Barbless Flies is a selection of deer hair patterns especially successful in low water (June through to August) in sizes 14 and 18. Our selection includes 16 Deer Hair patterns, all inspired by our Canadian trip.
These are ideal for fishing those summer hatches when the fish are starting to be a little picky!
In total there are 16 flies supplied in our eco-friendly packaging. All of these flies are tied using barbless hooks, on lightweight size 14 and 18 hooks.
This is the fly the majority of locals choose for wild river fish (and stillwater trout) in central Canada over the warmer summer months. Think of it as a close relative of the IOBO Humpy, but tied with deer hair and peacock herl, rather than just CdC.
So in an attempt to cement Anglo-Canadian fly fishing relations, we asked if we could reproduce our own versions - just slightly smaller and more suited to UK waters, here they are, all included in our new Tom Thumb Selection.
