We're dipping into the archives with this fly - with a blast from the 1940's. One of our customers asked us if we do requests - "So long as it's legal", was our reply. They wanted us to reproduce some flies which were discussed in the fantastic book "Flyfishing the Welsh Borderlands" by Roger Smith (an excellent book which you can - and should buy).

The fly in question was attributed to a really interesting guy, the Rev. Edward Powell.

Ermine Moth. Originally tied to imitate light coloured moths, this fly is fantastic when fished at dusk. It is noted as being very successful when Black Gnats are on the water (I've no idea why, but there you go!). Rev Powell loved this fly - "It is a marvellous fly all day and its colour gives one an extra half-hour's fishing at nightfall when other patterns would be invisible" - Great as the Autumn nights draw in.

These flies are available individually in sizes 12 & 14. Just click on "add to cart" and then adjust the quantity in your cart.
